Maria has been a Registered Occupational Therapist since 1983 and received her Hand Therapy Certification in 1993. Maria is the founder, director and owner of Santa Monica Hand Therapy, which was established in 1994. Previously she worked in multiple rehabilitation settings serving the Los Angeles and Santa Monica community. Maria is a Certified Fieldwork Educator. In addition to supervising Occupational Therapy interns, she has mentored and trained graduate therapists for the Hand Therapy Certification process. She is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), the Occupational Therapy Association of California (OTAC) and the International Federation Society of Hand Therapists (IFSHT).

Pamela has been a Physical Therapist since 1996. Her work as a Physical Therapist, as well as her own athletic background, provides her with extensive orthopedic and sports medicine experience that enhances her ability to treat complex upper extremity injuries. Pamela joined the SMHT team in 2007 after deciding she wanted to specialize in treatment of the upper extremity. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2009. She has a keen interest and extensive experience in treating multiple hand diagnoses, including complex post surgical cases and in the orthotic fabrication of complex splints and orthosis. Pamela is committed to furthering the hand therapy profession by assisting in the supervision and training of students and therapists.

Justine joined the Santa Monica Hand Therapy team in 2002 as the front desk receptionist. Her position evolved into the Clinic Manager, which is the position she upheld for several years while simultaneously obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management. In 2013, she began the Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy program at California State University (Dominguez Hills) and graduated in May 2015 with high honors. Justine completed her Fieldwork II in hand therapy at SMHT, where she greatly expanded her knowledge of upper extremity rehabilitation as well as establishing excellent clinical and orthotic fabrication skills. Justine prides herself on client-centered patient care and truly enjoys helping them overcome their physical injuries. She is now pursuing her Hand Therapy Certification. Justine is thrilled to be returning to SMHT.

Erika joined Santa Monica Hand Therapy in 2012 as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). She has an Associate of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. Her work experience as a COTA for 6 years included working in hospitals, rehabilitation units and outpatient settings where she treated patients with orthopedic, neurological and medically complex problems. While working, she pursued her Master of Arts Degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman's University, graduating with high honors in December 2014. She now works at SMHT as a registered Occupational Therapist. Erika has demonstrated excellent hand therapy skills as well as outstanding talent and creativity for custom fabrication of complex orthosis. Erika is currently pursuing her Hand Therapy Certification.

Patricio has been the billing and collections manager at Santa Monica Hand Therapy since 1999. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from Ecuador.

Torie is the office manager, and has been working at SMHT since 2007. She has over twelve years of experience working in the health care industry and received her MBA in Healthcare Management in 2008.
